Custom and commission work is a type of jewellery, art and object making that is unique and specific to each client. It is a collaborative process where an original piece is made to reflect both the wearer and the maker.
I work with most precious metals, silver and any karat of gold. Using old gold is sometimes a possibility depending on the design and old gemstones can be repurposed into new designs as long as they are in good shape.
The cost depends on the specifics of each project, the complexity of the design and material costs. I can work within most budgets.
The time line of each project usually takes 4-8 weeks to complete. The design process can be completed within an hour, or can take as long as you do in deciding on the design.
At the consultation we will discuss your lifestyle and fashion tastes. Next, I will prepare some sketches and a price quote. I welcome you to bring any sketches, existing materials, thoughts, images and inspirations to the consultation.
There is a $100 sketch/quote deposit that will be deducted from the final cost. Upon approval of the design, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your order.
I usually meet with clients at my Squamish studio, however commissions can be designed long distance as well, via email, skype and telephone conversations and then shipped in a secure manner.
